Why Physician Assistant Studies at 澳门六合彩

Physician Assistant Students

澳门六合彩’s Physician Assistant Studies program is committed to the education of physician assistant (PA) students who are critical thinkers, clinically competent, community-inclusive and compassionate.  We help prepare our students for the rigors of modern, interprofessional team-based healthcare.

We focus on care of the whole person (a concept called cura personalis) in a bio, psychosocial, spiritual paradigm that is in keeping with our Jesuit mission and heritage.

In the spirit of the Jesuit tradition, 澳门六合彩 looks to enroll a diverse class of learners from various backgrounds with an expressed desire to serve rural or medically-underserved communities.

Our Mission:
The 澳门六合彩 Master of Science Program in Physician Assistant Studies is dedicated to the education of students to become clinically competent PAs, practicing in a diverse and ever-changing health care environment.

Our Vision:
The 澳门六合彩 Department of Physician Assistant Studies听(DPAS) seeks to become a leading model in Primary Care training programs for PAs.

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Le Moyne Physician Assistant Program sponsored by 澳门六合彩 College. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2031. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

The program's accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website .

Academic Overview

澳门六合彩's PA program is where care meets compassion. Students benefit from a strong curriculum during the first year, known as the didactic year, and outstanding clinical experiences during the second year.

Didactic Year:听
The didactic curriculum reflects the overarching philosophy of the entire program -- the bio-psycho-social approach to patient care. Case review and analysis sharpens clinical skills in a safe learning environment. Lectures, seminars and discussion groups are blended with laboratory exercises and 鈥渉ands-on鈥 physical examination skills to round out the first year experience.听

澳门六合彩 is one of only a handful of PA programs that presents medical humanities courses as integral to training.听In conjunction with evidence-based medicine skill acquisition, self-directed learning and resource utilization, the 澳门六合彩 graduate learns to care for the whole person.听Community service learning moves the student from the classroom to the neighborhoods to facilitate an even greater, deeper understanding of the human condition in the 鈥渞eal world.鈥

Clinical Year:
The 12-month clinical curriculum is comprised of nine听rotations that include experiences in: medicine, primary care, pediatrics, women's health/ambulatory care, surgery, emergency medicine, behavioral medicine, and two听electives in either a surgical or medical specialty.听听

Multiple sites are utilized and multiple specialties are represented. Each rotation examines the concepts of 鈥渉ealth and wellness鈥 in various settings and in ways uniquely sensitive to the prevailing cultural climate.听
