As a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies (GWS), you will gain a rich understanding of gender, allowing you to see the world in new and distinct ways. You will analyze and reflect upon various texts, norms and institutions in order to grasp what it means – historically and socially – to be a gendered person. You will study fascinating and challenging questions, including how gender intersects with race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, religion and other elements that constitute identity. Most important, as a GWS minor you will develop a greater appreciation for diversity, which is critical to becoming a strong, effective leader in today’s world.
