[email protected]u Leslie began her career journey at the University of Virginia, where she majored in Rhetoric and Communications. After working in the broadcast news industry, she went on to earn a Master’s of Teaching from Towson University. Over the years, she pursued a variety of careers—working in a fast-paced newsroom in Washington, D.C.; serving as a middle school English teacher in Maryland; serving as a volunteer in the Syracuse community and Syracuse City Schools; and teaching public speaking at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê—before joining the Career Advising team. Leslie's collective experiences led her to her work she loves and an appreciation for the perspectives she can offer students and alumni as they embark on their own paths.
[email protected] R.J. graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a B.S. in Education and Theatre Arts and M.S. from SUNY Oswego with the intention of being an elementary school teacher. Trying to find a job in a scarce market, R.J. re-purposed his skills, taking on roles in employee training, working at the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, teaching at Finger Lakes Community College, and mentoring first generation college students. He comes to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he served in their Center for Career Services.
[email protected] Chrissy is a proud °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê alumna with a B.S. in biology. Wanting to utilize her academic and interpersonal skills, Chrissy joined Aerotek, a national recruiting company which places professionals in Fortune 500 companies, in their Ft. Lauderdale, Florida office. Bridging her academic and business skill sets, Chrissy started a position with AstraZeneca, a global leader in bio-pharmaceuticals. After ten years and proving to be a top sales performer winning regional and national sales awards, Chrissy, looking for a new challenge, pivoted toward higher education, earning a Master’s in Student Affairs Counseling from Syracuse University in 2015. She now utilizes the skills she gained throughout her different career paths to help students begin their own career journeys.

Aaliyah graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an undergraduate and master degree in Social Work, with the intention and passion to work with underserved populations and marginalized groups. After graduating, she spent time learning different fields and how to best serve her community, and ultimately found a passion working with student populations. Aaliyah moved to Syracuse, NY in mid-2023 and started her career in higher education as an Inclusion Career Advisor at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê. It’s here that she hopes to support students, with an emphasis on BIPOC, first-generation, low-income, and other underrepresented students, in finding and building community on campus. Aaliyah also hopes to guide, support, and empower students with resources to thrive off campus and in their future endeavors.
